Residential Conveyancer – Witham, Essex 

We are actively seeking an experienced Solicitor, Conveyancer or Legal Executive (PQE 1 years+) to join our busy, well established and highly regarded residential conveyancing team.  This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic department with genuine scope for progression.

Responsibilities

You will manage your own varied caseload of Residential Conveyancing matters to include:-

• Manage a caseload of 25 – 30 new files per month
• Handling a full range of residential conveyancing matters, including:
  • Sales and purchases
  • Freehold and leasehold transactions
  • New build properties
  • Transfers of equity
• Providing clear, practical advice and support to clients throughout the transaction
• Supervise secretarial and support staff
• Maintain and develop client and professional relationships
• Ensure compliance with billing, time recording and firm procedures
• Contribute to team growth and overall departmental development

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have significant experience in the field of Residential Conveyancing with ambition and passion to drive the department.  Ability and willingness to assist with market the Residential Conveyancing department along with strong IT, inter-personal skills and a positive attitude are vital.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in employment law together with the ambition, commercial awareness and leadership skills required to establish and grow a successful department from inception.  Hold a current practising certificate and be authorised to practise in England and Wales.

Our Magistrates work is split across North and South Essex Teams together with an established team in our Ipswich office.

This is a full-time position, but part-time applications will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Providing a comprehensive service to both legally aided and private clients
• Attending police stations both inside office hours and outside office hours with overtime fully remunerated.
• Providing advice and advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court.

The Candidate

The successful applicants will be qualified Duty Solicitors with experience of managing their own caseload and conducting all of their own advocacy including conduct of their own trials.

• Must have the knowledge and ability to represent clients at the Police Station, Magistrates Court and as litigator on Crown Court cases.
• All levels of PQE will be considered.
