Beth is a Trainee Solicitor at Taylor Haldane Barlex, currently completing her Qualifying Work Experience with the Family Team in the Chelmsford office. She began her training contract within the firm’s Crime Department, where she developed valuable experience in criminal defence and police station representation.
Beth has experience managing her own caseload and supports clients across a range of private family matters. She also undertakes police station work where appropriate, providing practical advice during what can often be a stressful and uncertain time for clients.
Having successfully passed the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), Beth is now completing the final stage of her qualification and is committed to building a career focused on supporting individuals and families through challenging legal situations.
Beth has strong skills in compassionate client communication, ensuring that individuals feel heard, supported, and understood throughout what are often stressful or sensitive situations. Beth’s experience includes drafting court applications and formal legal correspondence with accuracy and attention to detail, as well as preparing evidence bundles and supporting documentation for hearings. Beth is confident in conducting thorough legal research and assisting with case preparation to ensure matters are presented clearly and effectively. I also have experience supporting vulnerable clients and young people, approaching each case with empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcome.
Clients value Beth’s approachable manner. She understands that family breakdowns and criminal investigations can be overwhelming, and she takes the time to listen carefully to each client’s circumstances before providing clear, practical advice.
Beth is particularly experienced in working with young people and vulnerable individuals. She is patient, supportive, and committed to ensuring clients feel heard and understood throughout the legal process. Her professional approach helps clients feel reassured during what are often emotional or stressful situations.
Since joining THB Solicitors, Beth has developed strong foundations in both Criminal Law and Private Family Law. Her cross-departmental experience enables her to approach cases with a well-rounded perspective, particularly where family and criminal matters intersect.
In her role as a Trainee Solicitor, Beth plays an integral part in progressing cases efficiently and effectively. She assists with managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting applications and correspondence, and preparing evidence for court hearings.
Beth has attended court hearings and regularly liaises with clients, counsel, courts and third parties. Her strong organisational skills and attention to detail help ensure that matters progress smoothly. Above all, she prioritises open communication, ensuring clients are kept informed and supported at every stage of their case.
Outside of work, Beth enjoys Pilates and spending time with her friends and family.
