Lauren joined the Family Department at Taylor Haldane Barlex in 2019
Lauren completed her Law Degree at the University of Lincoln and went on to study her Legal Practice Course at City University of London, obtaining a Commendation in 2019. In November 2019, Lauren joined the Family Department as a Paralegal.
Lauren assists with the day to day running of Public Law matters including Care Proceedings. She has experience engaging with clients taking their instructions. Lauren also has experience liaising with other professionals including Court, Chambers, Prison Services and expert agencies.
She has experience drafting various types of legal documents including preparing bundles for Court hearings. She has assisted with complex and sensitive cases including allegations of sexual abuse, incarcerated clients and client’s with cognitive impairments.
Lauren has assisted Solicitors at Court hearings and accompanied clients during appointments with professionals; ensuring the client is supported and well informed is extremely important to her.
She has also assisted with Legal Aid Private Law matters involving children and contact arrangements.
Lauren understands that legal proceedings can be extremely strenuous and overwhelming for clients and she is able to take a sensitive and supportive approach towards cases. She has experience working with client’s who have learning disabilities or mental health issues. Therefore, she understands how important it is to be patient and understanding when taking instructions and she is able to communicate well with them.
Lauren regularly liaises with the Legal Aid Agency and has experience working on the CCMS portal.
Outside of work, Lauren has taken an active role in raising money for Alzheimer’s Society.
