Nobody asks to live with dementia

Posted: 18 July 2024

Taylor Haldane Barlex LLP’s partnership with Alzheimer’s Society

Dementia is the UK’s leading cause of death. Across the UK, 900,000 people are living with dementia. Many are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone. With the help of their supporters, Alzheimer’s Society is changing that.

Our support

There is currently no cure for dementia, but Taylor Haldane Barlex LLP at 61 Ness Road, Shoeburyness, Essex, SS3 9DB have pledged their support by offering free simple Wills in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.

Make a difference

Leaving a gift in your Will is a wonderful way to give more than you may be able to in your lifetime. Plus, make a difference that could last for generations. The Alzheimer’s Society relies on these extra-special gifts to fund a third of all their work. This includes their tireless, cutting-edge research that could lead to better prevention, diagnosis and treatments that give people longer with their loved ones.

Alzheimer's Society Will Service

THB Support

Carly Dartnell at Taylor Haldane Barlex LLP said “It’s rare to meet someone who hasn’t been affected by the devastation of dementia, including our own colleagues, friends, family and clients. We’re proud to provide free simple Wills to our clients in support of Alzheimer’s Society. There’s no obligation to leave a gift, however the significant majority of those using this service choose to do so in support of future generations who may be affected by dementia.”

Alzheimer’s Society support

Anne Maitland, who has left a gift to Alzheimer’s Society in her Will, said “My mum had dementia, and when I felt I could no longer help her, I reached out to Alzheimer’s Society. It was the first time anyone had listened to me and offered useful advice.” Alzheimer’s Society’s services such as their Dementia Support phone line are free to access. Plus they will be there to help anyone going through their dementia journey, from getting a diagnosis all the way through to end of life and bereavement.

Free Simple Will Service

Adam Buckles, Head of Legacies (Gifts in Wills), said “We are extremely grateful to our solicitor partners including Taylor Haldane Barlex LLP, who provide free simple Wills for our supporters. Each free Will completed by our solicitor partners is one more opportunity for supporters to express their care for those affected by dementia by leaving a gift in their Will.”
