Our Family team can advise in respect of changing yours or your child’s name.
Anyone over the age of 16 can change their name, be it forename, surname and/or middle name. Our Family Team can advise and assist you in relation to any change of name and prepare the necessary documents.
We can also advise if you wish to change the name of a child under the age of 16, all those with parental responsibility will need to consent to the change of name. If there is an order prohibiting a change of name, or those with parental responsibility do not agree to the change, then an application to the Court will need to be made.
