Jeneane completed her Law Degree at the University of Hertfordshire in 2003 and completed her Legal Practice Course at City University in 2004. Prior to qualifying as a Solicitor in 2008 Jeneane worked as a paralegal and qualified as a police station representative in 2006. Jeneane has been qualified as a Duty Solicitor since 2009.
Jeneane has considerable experience in all aspects of criminal law, dealing with cases in the police station, Magistrates Court, Youth Court, Crown Court and Court of Appeal. She has dealt with a wide variety of cases including Road Traffic Offences, minor theft offences and assault matters and more serious offences such as Rape, Robbery, Burglary, Sexual Offences, firearms and Murder. Jeneane enjoys conducting hearings in the Magistrates Court and prides herself on her ability to build a report with both her clients and other professionals which help her achieve the best results possible for those she is representing.
In addition to conducting hearings in the Magistrates Court and Youth Court, Jeneane is highly skilled in preparing Crown Court cases and drafting documents to assist including bail applications. She also has experience dealing with ancillary matters in the Crown Court including Confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act
Notable Cases
R V I and others – Youth Case at the Crown Court involving a gang stabbing, the client was prosecuted on the basis of identification, following a successful challenge of the ID evidence the case was dismissed.
R V A – following a guilty plea to a cash in transit robbery involving a firearm, Jeneane was involved in successfully appealing the sentence of 14 years given by the Crown Court where it was reduced to 12 years.
R V P – An allegation of statutory rape where the defence of reasonable belief the complainant was of age was raised. An acquittal was successfully obtained after trial.
